GTA 6 has been delayed twice. Neither delay was quiet — Rockstar announced both directly.
Trailer 1 (December 2023) closed on a “2025” window.
On 2 May 2025 the game moved to 26 May 2026.
On 6 November 2025 it moved again to 19 November 2026.
Rockstar's statement on the second delay
“We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”
Rockstar announced the date on 6 November 2025, after moving the game from its original 2025 window and then from 26 May 2026. Take-Two reaffirmed 19 November in its Q1 FY2027 results on 7 August 2026, tying its full-year outlook to the launch.
There is no PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version. The PS5 release covers the PS5 Pro.
As of 12 August 2026 Rockstar has published no PC release date, storefront listing or system requirements. Any PC date circulating online is speculation. For context — not a commitment — GTA V reached PC about 18 months after its console launch.
Confirmed on 24 June 2026, with pre-orders opening the next day. The Ultimate Edition is digital-only and bundles vehicles, weapons and apparel across Jason and Lucia's story. Digital pre-orders include one month of GTA+.
Boxed copies contain a code rather than game data. Pre-loading begins 12 November 2026, a week before launch.
Nothing has been announced. No date, no storefront page, no system requirements. Sites publishing a specific PC date are guessing.
